Sammiches
Summer is here, your life is hectic. You’d rather be outside than in. The stomach is grumbling and you can’t ignore the call. You need to refuel with something that’s not going to go right through you like some kid on a waterslide. The answer is simple… sammiches. No not sandwhiches, but sammiches because they’re ?mmm so good.?
I present to you three of my all time favourites. Not only are they tasty, but they’re quick to make and easy on your pockets.
The first note I’d like to make, before I present the sammich list, is that anyone who wishes to make the most delicious sammich should invest into a toaster oven. These devices will evenly toast your bread while warming up all of the ingredients and melting the cheese.
On to the sammiches!
D’s Garden Ranch Slam
- Bread, I prefer 12 grain myself
- Renee’s Gourmet Garden Ranch Dip (this is the key to this sammich)
- Honey Roasted Turkey
- Swiss Cheese
- Dijon Mustard
- Sweet pickles
From Russia With Love
- Russian Rye bread
- Havarti
- Mustard/Mayo
- Lettuce
The Classic ?PBB? (not recommended for toaster oven)
- Bread, it doesn’t matter what kind but I recommend staying simple; whole wheat or white.
- Peanutbutter.
- Banana slices.
So these are just three of my favourites. The great thing about sammiches is that you can put whatever the heck you want on it and it’ll probably taste good… well… if all else fails I’m sure Fido will chomp it down. And if you created something so attrocious that your dog won’t even eat it, just toss it to the guy that digs in your trash every morning and try again at lunch time.

A Night in With Boy George: A Chillout Mix
Let’s back up to August 2002, out from Moonshine records comes a mixed compilation by Boy George titled “A Night Out with Boy George”. Overall the best way I could describe it as is techno house; loud with lots of heavy beats, and in my opinion a fairly obnoxious mix of sounds. Fast-forward to October …

Karma
if you do something good, will something good happen to you in a physical sense, as opposed to merely feeling good about yourself?

Manhunt (PS2)
The last thing you remember is being on death row lying on the steel table waiting the lethal injection. Now you wake up to find yourself in a room, dizzy and short of breath. An eerie voice booms through the intercom, “You’re not dead… yet… do as I say, make it through the night and …

Surf
I straddled my board in the open water and enjoyed that moment of solitude before eyeing the swell that was going to break into the perfect wave.

Sony PSP
Personally I was excited to get my hands on the new Sony PSP. So on March 24th I was like a little kid opening up the box of my brand new Sony PSP. Was it worth it?

Sónar 2010 – Barcelona, Spain
The festival attracts a lot of outsiders, but the Mediterranean, Spanish and more specifically Catalan nature of the people makes the festival what it is. Catalan people are passionate and this passion is infectious. The atmosphere is electric in Barcelona as a city and heightened by music and intoxicants at Sónar.

Summer Party Naval Styles at Seven RestoLounge
Oysters, like wine are affected by terroir and these Miyagi’s flavor profiles ranged with one showing a cleaner, almost tropical profile and the other being more salty, marine driven. As I was devouring the seemingly endless plates put in front of us, I sipped on a glass of fine sauvignon blanc.

O Restaurant & Lounge revisited
Calgary has a diverse set of urban communities, most of which have the ubiquitous strip mall watering hole. In the South West community of Marda Loop, a reinvention of this paradigm has been established.

Predictions 2010.. and beyond!
So 2010 eh? Almost but not quite (no year zero they say) another decade? It seems like just yesterday that the world was waiting for Y2K. R4NT started publishing in March 2001, so we’re not quite 10 years old yet, but in internet years we are already a senior citizen.

Invictus
No matter what, the reality of Nelson Mandela is something that deserves screen time. Should this film even remotely intrigue the masses to take interest in this figure, the world would likely benefit greatly from it.
