Debunking the Myth of Global Warming
Global Warming is not occurring.
It is not changing the Earth’s weather patterns. It is not responsible for any serious storms that may occur no matter what you see on the nightly news or your morning paper. For humans to blame a fluctuation of decimals points of one degree Celsius on our work, vastly underestimates the sun’s effect on heating the planet.
What you see in most mainstream media is mostly liberal and environmentalist propaganda constructed to frighten the average person. The science in dispute is over the nature of so-called “Greenhouse Gases” (GHG) such as Carbon Dioxide, Methane and Nitrous Oxide, and the way they function in the earth’s atmosphere. Specifically these gases are said to trap solar energy from escaping to space thus increasing the temperature of the planet. This supposition has lead the international community through work by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in June of 1992 to the Kyoto Protocol which was adopted in December 1997 by industrialized countries with the commitment to reduce (mainly) Carbon Dioxide emissions by 5% in total from 1990 levels by 2008-2010.
Canada is a signatory to the Kyoto Protocol and as such there can be expected to be economic consequences for Canada, consequences that would be magnified in energy intensive provinces. This article will not even contemplate the drastic changes of economic comparative advantage to the hindrance of Canadian international economics when China and the United States, the two largest producers of CO2 will not even think of signing this laughable excuse for an international law.
Most of the information on climate change and global warming as espoused by environmentalists is completely wrong, or based on biased or skewed information. As an example the statistics presented by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a supposedly reputable international government agency, predicted in 1990 by the middle of the next century (2050) temperatures would increase by 4.5 degrees Celsius. The United Nations had, in five years, remodeled the predicted temperature increase and even taking into account increasing amounts of GHG emissions over those five years, to yield a revised estimate in 1995 of an increase of 2 degrees Celsius by 2100.
Currently, the UN cannot even model the changes as there has been a drastic reduction in how much Carbon Dioxide theoretically contributes to global warming. This shift in the estimate of global warming is only an example of the disputed and vastly oversimplified world of modeling global warming which groups like Greenpeace have invested almost no time and money into producing their statistics.
To show the general ignorance and fear-mongering portrayed by these environmentalists, one may look no farther than a scientist at the head of the global warming charge in the early 1990’s, Jan Vezier, who has recently recanted his view and says that carbon dioxide has no effect on the increase of Earths temperature.
To say without a doubt global warming is occurring is overstating any conclusions as the cause of a theoretical 2 degree Celsius increase of mean world temperature (or as close as we can measure) over 100 years is still unknown, when we have significant geologic records and hard scientific proof, that show the fluctuation of the Earth’s temperature over extended periods of time to be much larger than 2 degrees Celsius. I find it also extremely conceited of humans to say that greenhouse gases are responsible for these changes.
The effect of the liberal mainstream media such as the CBC and Globe and Mail in Canada, have taken their toll on popular opinion with respect to global warming. However, even in academic literature there can be seen to be fear mongering such a fevered pitch that the end of the world seems to be nigh. “The (global) cool has already killed hundreds of thousands of people in poor nations. It has already made food and fuel more precious, thus increasing the price of everything we buy.
If it continues, and no strong measures are taken to deal with it, the cooling will cause world famine, world chaos and probably world war, and this could all come by the year 2000.” Ponte, Lowell. The Cooling Pg XV. This was written in 1976, prior to another big environmental scare the oncoming of a global ice-age thanks to, yes you guessed it, the devil of gases, Carbon Dioxide. Substitute the word “warming” for “cooling” and 2050 for 2000 in the above passage and it could have come out of any number of pieces of current academic literature, which spawn any number of environmental organizations to feverishly foolish targets.
This is of course not even taking into account the vast economic consequences that a mandatory cutting of greenhouse gases would unleash on countries that depend on energy for survival because of their climate. Canada being one of these countries would suffer untold economic chaos that not even economists care to model, so vast the consequences.
So before you listen to the next piece of environmentalist propaganda that is shoved your way, think about humans on the planet Earth, existent in the present civilized form for 4000 years and then think about the extent of the world’s progressive climate changes throughout the millions of years since creation. Then think about the awesome power of the sun and consider is it possible, or even probable that humans could modify the temperature of the planet with such nonchalant ease? I think not.

CBC vs. BBC
My take on the value of the CBC as a portal for Canadians when compared to the BBC is that we are paying approximately 1/4 of what taxpayers in Britain are paying for and getting no where near one-quarter the value.

It’s not about Oil Stupid
IF the US is going to war over the economics of oil, then they should hire some new economists. It just doesn’t make sense. The expense of shipping over 150,000 troops to the Middle East for a couple years, plus all of the jet fuel expenditures, bombs used etc, will cost upwards of a trillion dollars over 2 years..

The festival attracts a lot of outsiders, but the Mediterranean, Spanish and more specifically Catalan nature of the people makes the festival what it is. Catalan people are passionate and this passion is infectious. The atmosphere is electric in Barcelona as a city and heightened by music and intoxicants at Sónar.

Summer Party Naval Styles at Seven RestoLounge
Oysters, like wine are affected by terroir and these Miyagi’s flavor profiles ranged with one showing a cleaner, almost tropical profile and the other being more salty, marine driven. As I was devouring the seemingly endless plates put in front of us, I sipped on a glass of fine sauvignon blanc.

So 2010 eh? Almost but not quite (no year zero they say) another decade? It seems like just yesterday that the world was waiting for Y2K. R4NT started publishing in March 2001, so we’re not quite 10 years old yet, but in internet years we are already a senior citizen.

No matter what, the reality of Nelson Mandela is something that deserves screen time. Should this film even remotely intrigue the masses to take interest in this figure, the world would likely benefit greatly from it.
